How Many Steps A Day Do We Need?

10,000 is the ideal number of steps we each individual needs to stay healthy and active in a day.  

Achieving your step count each day takes dedication and discipline. But why 10,000? 

10,000 steps might seem excessive but truthfully that’s a number said to help reduce certain health conditions, such as high blood pressure and heart disease. 

10,000 steps = 8 km 
Inactive: less than 5,000 steps per day.
Average (somewhat active): ranges from 7,500 to 9,999 steps per day 
Very active: more than 12,500 steps per day. 
The number of steps you aim for in a day should be based on your goals. It’s best to put your energy toward increasing movement and steps throughout the day. 

However, walking at least 15,000 steps per day is correlated with shedding those extra pounds.
